WIPO Digital Access Service — Notifications/span>
The Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic (IPO CZ) notified the International Bureau in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions that it would commence operation as a depositing and accessing office of the WIPO Digital Access Service with effect from July 1, 2026.
The technical and operational options adopted by the IPO CZ shall be the following:
• IPO CZ as a depositing Office will deposit certified copies of patent, utility model, and industrial design applications as priority documents when specifically requested by the applicant. This applies to any request filed on or after accession to the Service. Requests may relate to applications filed before this date.
• All documents and information will be exchanged in color, greyscale, or black and white and in PDF format through the WIPO DAS Office web portal.
• As an Accessing Office, the IPO CZ will accept color, greyscale, or black and white documents in PDF format as deposited by depositing Office.
The following practical information may be useful to applicants:
• A request to the IPO CZ to make an application available through the service may be made by using intended field in the 'Request for Priority Document' form, available within E-Filing portal/as pdf form, or by sending a letter clearly stating the relevant application number and indicating that it should be made available to WlPO Digital Access Service.
• To request the IPO CZ as accessing Office to retrieve the document from the service, the applicant should fill in the relevant field for DAS code as a part of priority claim section on the application form or send a letter to the IPO CZ.
• The IPO CZ national and international applications hosted in the library will have the respective number formats:
o Patents: CZ YYYY-XXXX (YYYY=year, 4 digits; XXXX=serial number, 4 digits, without leading zeros, e.g. CZ 2025-1; serial number row starts with 1 each year)
o Utility models: CZ YYYY-XXXXX U (YYYY=year, 4 digits; XXXXX=serial number, 5 digits, e.g. CZ 2025-42519 U; U= utility model indicator; serial number row is continuous)
o Industrial designs: CZ YYYY-XXXXX D (YYYY=year, 4 digits; XXXXX=serial number, 5 digits, e.g. CZ 2025-42524 D; D = industrial design indicator; serial number row is continuous)
